TOWn Archive- Part Seven

I saved this part for last because it's moreso for those who worked on it than anyone else. It's the About Us page. I loved this page because the rest of the site had a kinda serious look to it, and this one shows the personality of each TOWnsfolk. None of which is very serious.

I had each member pick out a picture and write up a little blurp about themselves. Because I'm more of a behind the scenes person I always like to be able to know about the people behind the scenes, the ones who aren't neccessarily the ones to grab the attention.

Real life job: bed tester - sort of. Well ok I don't have one, but I'd make a great superhero, any offers?

Why on earth I have devoted large portions of my life to this site:

A sudden bout of insanity seized me some time last year when WhiteAslan and I were talking about the lack of Narnia Forums on the web. I started working on setting something up, and have been sucked into the black hole of Narnia-obsession ever since.

TOWn Job: Newbie Guide author, contributor

Why on earth I have devoted large portions of my life to this site:

Well, I really haven't done that much for the site, other than the Newbie Guide and contributing content once in awhile. I read the books as a pre-teen and really enjoyed them. On a side note, the set of the Chronicles of Narnia books I currently own once belonged to my brother David. I treasure those books and his memory, so I like helping out with a website I know he'd appreciate.

Why on earth I have devoted large portions of my life to this site:

Ummm... Sure, why not? Because I love the Chronicles of Narnia. And I'm on the internet a lot. And I like movies. And seeing books get made into movies.

Why on earth I have devoted large portions of my life to this site:

I enjoy C.S. Lewis so when Joelle asked me to work on this I accepted. (webmistress's note: That's my little sister)

Why on earth I have devoted large portions of my life to this site:
Once I heard they were making movies out of the books (well, LWW for starters at least) I was excited. I wanted to contribute in some way, like I wished I could have done for LOTR (but didn't...semi-long story). LWW is one of my all time favorite books, so this is pretty darn cool.

Why on earth I have devoted large portions of my life to this site:

I was going through a very bad time in 3rd grade, but then my 3rd grade teacher (whom I don't like because she was evil except for this one thing, long story...) lent me the Narnia books. What a joy they were to read! Later, when I had joined the LOTR message board at TORn, I found a link to the original MSN message board on Amatire's (or was it WhiteAslan's?) footer. The rest is history...

A general obsession with the Chronicles of Narnia, the Internet, and films. It just seemed like something I should do because I love it so much.

Why on earth I have devoted large portions of my life to this site:

Ever since my mom gave me her old copy of the Chronicles of Narnia I have the loved the books. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve read them. Now that I’m older I’ve been reading every C.S. Lewis book I can get my hands on. I am really glad that I can now take what I have learned about web site development and take those skills to promote the books I have grown to love, and the upcoming movies which I hope will live up to the books.

And that's all!

Bwhah hah ha! my schoolmarm picture! Don't I look ever so mature and trustworthy? That was from my preschool teaching days.

Thanks so much for posting this stuff, Joelle. Like a trip down memory lane.
